FAQ - Presbyterys and the Faith ALIVE Journey?

The project sponsored by the Congregational Life & Mission Commission and called Faith ALIVE Journey, aims to re-discover and regrow the faith-sharing capacities of people in Uniting Church congregations within the Western Australian Synod. There is a sense of urgency in this and we ask you to support this project as it brings new life to the Church.

There are some specific things for the presbytery to do immediately. It may be preferable for the PRC or the executive to undertake these in the first instance, so the best possible selection of trainers can take place.

Selection of trainers

The success of this project will rest upon the selection of suitable persons from the presbyteries to become trainers of one of the Faith ALIVE Journey courses. Those selected as trainers would make themselves available to groups and congregations within their presbytery over the next 12 months. We need a number of people trained to resource congregations so every congregation will have the opportunity to participate in at least one of the courses.

Review the selection criteria and ask your presbytery to consider lay and ordained persons and invite those considered suitable to become a trainer. We seek one or two for each course. There are seven courses which means selecting at least 14 people.

Either the presbytery or the selected persons themselves could nominate which course they will prepare for on 18-19 June. You may wish to make suggestions of the course you believe shows the greatest potential benefit for your presbytery.
