FAQ - Why a journey?

In the Uniting Church across WA,

  • we have a God whom we know through Jesus Christ,
  • we have a mission in the community which we are committed to accomplish, and
  • we are immersed in a society that seeks it hardly knows what.

Yet, we have so few newcomers.

Research shows we have lost many of the capacities we need to be able to respond to some of these challenges. Our mission is under threat. Our neighbours need something more of us.

This concern is being felt in every arm and aspect of the church, so the Faith ALIVE Journey intends to get the ball rolling again. ALIVE describes our goal - a faith that is

  • Authentic
  • Liberating
  • Infectious
  • Vital
  • Enthusiastic

It is not a magic program - it is a journey, a process we must undertake to un-learn some things, and to learn some re-newing things, and to pray like never before.
